A new poster for the upcoming post-apocalyptic action movie “The Book of Eli” has come online.  The film stars focuses on a lone hero (Denzel Washington) who guards the Book of Eli, which provides knowledge that could redeem society, but a despot (Gary Oldman) of a small, makeshift town plans to take possession of the book.

The Book of Eli, directed by Allen and Albert Hughes from the script by Gary Whitta stars Denzel Washington (Eli), Gary Oldman (Carnegie), Mila Kunis (Solara), Ray Stevenson (Redridge), Jennifer Beals, Michael Gambon and Tom Waits hits theaters on January 15th, 2010.

The film tells the story of Dr. Parnassus and his extraordinary Imaginarium – a traveling show where members of the audience get an irresistible opportunity to choose between light and joy or darkness and gloom.

The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus stars Heath Ledger, Christopher Plummer, Tom Waits, Lily Cole, Andrew Garfield, Verne Troyer, Johnny Depp, Colin Farrell, Jude Law and will be released on Christmas Day in limited release.

Sony Pictures Classics just released eight character posters for Terry Gilliam’s “The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus”.

The film features Heath Ledger’s final performance, along with his stand-ins to complete the movie: Johnny Depp, Jude Law and Colin Farrell. The rest of the cast consists of Christopher Plummer, Tom Waits, Lily Cole and even an appearance by famous little person Verne Troyer.

Set in the present-day, movie is a fantastical morality tale. It tells the story of Dr. Parnassus and his extraordinary Imaginarium, a travelling show where members of the audience get an irresistible opportunity to choose between light and joy or darkness and gloom.

The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus opens to theatres on December 25th.

The specialty studio picked up the rights for a bargain price after no one wanted to get involved with it after a lackluster Cannes Film Festival premiere.

The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus is a fantastical morality tale, set in the present day. Many centuries later, on meeting his one true love, Dr Parnassus made another deal with the devil, trading his immortality for youth, on condition that when his first-born reached its 16th birthday he or she would become the property of Mr Nick.

The trailer itself looks spectacular, and with just over a week to go until release it won’t be long before we all get to see the finished product.
