The movie centers on Norma and Arthur Lewis, an ordinary suburban couple with financial problems. When a box mysteriously appears in their doorstep, the couple is presented with life-altering proposition of getting $1 million only with a press of a button that will kill another human being somewhere in the world.

Nearly three-minute long, the snippet is debuted via MTV attached to his guest blog post. The footage centers on James Marsden’s Arthur Lewis and Gillian Jacobs’ Dana.

The box stars Cameron Diaz and Frank Langella in addition to Marsden and Jacobs. It will come out in theaters across the U.S. on November 6.

Based on the short story “Button, Button” by Richard Matheson, the plot for movie is as follows: Norma and Arthur Lewis, a suburban couple with a young child, receive a wooden box as a gift, which bears fatal and irrevocable consequences. A mysterious stranger delivers the message that the box promises to bestow upon its owner $1 million with the press of a button. However, pressing this button will simultaneously cause the death of another human being somewhere in the world.

The Box is scheduled to hit theaters on November 6.

Richard Kelly, director of upcoming thriller, on his Twitter feed posted final poster for “The Box” starring Cameron Diaz, James Marsden and Frank Langella.

In the film Diaz and Marsden play a couple who are mysteriously given a box that contains a button; if you push the button, you get a million dollars, but someone in the world you don’t know will die. Frank Langella is on hand to encourage them to push the button and look creepy in the process.

“The Box” which also stars James Rebhorn, Gillian Jacobs, Holmes Osborne and Celia Weston is scheduled to hit theaters on October 30th 2009.

Based on the  short story “Button, Button”, “The Box” comes from the director of “Donnie Darko”.  Norma (Cameron Diaz) and Arthur (James Marsden) Lewis are average couple from a suburbs that need money. But, all changes when, on the stands in front of his home, found a mysterious box.

Showing what is inside the box, a mysterious stranger (Frank Langella) offers the couple $1 million if they press the button within 24 hours. However, pressing this button will simultaneously cause the death of another human being somewhere in the world. Now, Norma and Arthur find themselves in the crosshairs of a startling moral dilemma and face the true nature of their humanity.
