Synopsis: This heartwarming true story is an American adaptation of a Japanese tale about a loyal dog named Hachiko. This very special friend would accompany his master to the train station every day and return each afternoon to greet him after work. Sadly his master departs one day, passes away and never returns to the station. Hachiko faithfully returns to the same spot at the station the very next day, and every day for the next nine years to wait for his beloved master. During his daily visits, Hachiko touches the lives of many who work near and commute through the town square. He teaches the local people love, compassion and above all unyielding loyalty.

Today, a bronze statue of Hachiko sits in his waiting spot outside the Shibuya station in Japan as a permanent reminder of his devotion and love.

“Hachiko: A Dog’s Story” Trailer

The family drama stars Richard Gere, Joan Allen and Jason Alexander among others. Directed by “The Cider House Rules” helmer Lasse Hallstrom, Hachiko: A Dog’s Story will get a limited release on December 18.

Fox Searchlight Pictures have released the first trailer for Mira Nair’s biopic drama about legendary aviatrix Amelia Earhart.

Providing an idea of how the drama movie will look like, this promotional video also presents Hilary Swank as Amelia, Richard Gere as Amelia’s husband, George P. Putnam, and Ewan McGregor as Amelia’s lover, Gene Vidal.

Based on a script written by Ronald Bass, “Amelia” chronicles the rise to fame of this American aviation pioneer who disappeared over the central Pacific Ocean. In addition to the story of author and women’s rights advocate attempt to make a circumnavigational flight of the globe in 1937, it also details Amelia’s rocky relationship with her husband George P. Putnam.

Fox Searchlight will distribute it in U.S. October 23.
