One more international poster for upcoming sci-fi epic movie “Avatar” appear on the web.

In a distant future, humanity discovers the planet ‘Alpha Centauri B-4?, and for those scientists and astronauts who’ve traversed the gulf between neighboring suns and arrived on its alien soil know it as ‘Pandora’. A world filled with an incredible diversity of beautiful and deadly ammonia-breathing lifeforms. Its also a world that harbors treasures and resources almost beyond price.

This Avatar international featurette invites viewers to engage with the exotic planet Pandora and the human hardware that James Cameron and Co. designed for this movie. We see Sam Worthington arriving on the hostile planet where scientist Sigourney Weaver and pilot Michelle Rodriguez do their rounds, under the watchful eye of tough-talking macho-security chief Stephen Lang.

“Avatar” Featurette: Human Hardware

The film follows  Jake Sully, a former Marine who was wounded and paralyzed from the waist down in combat on Earth. Offered the chance to walk again when selected to participate in the Avatar program, he travels to Pandora. There, he, using his new avatar body, goes on a scouting mission and falls in love with a young Na’vi woman, Neytiri. Having integrated himself into the Na’vi clan, he finds himself getting caught between the military-industrial forces of Earth and the Na’vi.

Another sneak peek at Avatar has been shared through a leaked video. Though the film has previously released some clips and trailers, the approximately four-minute-footage manages to give a look at some never-before-seen scenes of the movie.

Avatar will be arriving in theaters nationwide on December 18.

20th Century Fox has released a new featurette and a clip for “Avatar”. Although the studio has previously provided some snippets at the upcoming movie, the two new footage have managed to give a look at more never-before-seen scenes of the film.

First conceived by James Cameron 14 years ago, when the means to realize his vision had not yet existed, “Avatar” will take the audience to a spectacular new world beyond imagination. Joining Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldana in cast ensemble are Sigourney Weaver as Dr. Grace Augustine and Michelle Rodriguez as Trudy Chacon, a retired Marine pilot.

Making its way out via QuickTime, the clip entitled Thanator Chase highlights Sam Worthington’s Jake Sully in his Avatar body while he is being chased by a creature of the distant moon Pandora…

… and the new featurette, which was debuted on the Taiwanese Yahoo!, exposes the Pandora’s jungle, the creatures, as well as the fight between local inhabitants Na’vi and humans who come from Earth.

Century Fox is bringing Avatar to both IMAX and regular theaters in 3D around the world on December 18th.

An ex-Marine finds himself thrust into hostilities on an alien planet filled with exotic life forms. As an Avatar, a human mind in an alien body, he finds himself torn between two worlds, in a desperate fight for his own survival and that of the indigenous people.

“Avatar” Trailer

Avatar hits theaters on December 16th, 2009.

The film revolves around Jake Sully, a former Marine confined to a wheelchair. Although bitter and disillusioned, he’s still a warrior at heart and all he ever wanted is something worth fighting for. Recruited to join an expedition to the moon Pandora, he finds himself walking again in a human-Na’vi hybrid known as avatar.

Two pictures, which center on Neytiri and Jake’s avatar, are high quality pictures, while the other one presents a scan of Grace’s avatar from a French magazine.

The first thing you notice is that the new trailer concentrates more on the character of Jake Sully and the plot, and less on the CG. Obviously there are still lots of CG action, since that’s a big part of the movie, but the focus is definitely more on the characters this time around.

Undergoing four years of actual production work, the movie stars Sam Worthington as Jake Sully, Zoe Saldana as Neytiri, Sigourney Weaver as botanist Dr. Grace Augustine, Stephen Lang as Marine Corps Colonel Quaritch, Michelle Rodriguez as retired Marine pilot Trudy Chacon, and many others.

Avatar is set to hit the U.S. theaters on December 18.

As you can see it provides new views of Zoe Saldana’s Neytiri, Sam Worthington’s Avatar, and Sigourney Weaver’s Avatar along with other news visuals.

Though Cameron will likely be working on the film’s visual effects up until its theatrical release in December, he does say that “Avatar” is completely edited.

The first shot reveals Sigourney Weaver in her human guise as Dr. Grace Augustine, a human scientist who works with Sam Worthington’s Jake Sully on the alien planet of Pandora.

The second gives you first look at the movie’s villain, Stephen Lang’s hard-as-nails and literally battle-scarred Col. Miles Quaritch, piloting a human battleship known as the Dragon

Avatar tickets go on sale – four months ahead of release

Online ticket vendors Fandango.com and MovieTickets.com began accepting money for Avatar midnight showing tickets on Friday to coincide with the sneak preview footage. Tickets are only being offered for around 75 AMC locations, the majority of which are IMAX. The Hollywood Reporter is claiming tickets have already been sold which is unpredecented given the film is still almost four months out. Unfortunately due to an unknown runtime, theaters cannot offer tickets beyond the midnight showing as they would not know when the next show could start.
