Summit Entertainment released another brand new trailer for “Astro Boy”, an adaptation of Osamu Tezuka’s classic manga. Less than one minute long snippet features the scene wherein the young robot meets Peacekeeper, and discovers that he is well equipped to defend himself.

Set in futuristic Metro City, the movie is story about a young robot with incredible powers created by a brilliant scientist in the image of the son he has lost. Unable to fulfill the grieving man’s expectations, our hero embarks on a journey in search of acceptance, experiencing betrayal and a netherworld of robot gladiators, before he returns to save Metro City and reconcile with the father who had rejected him.

“Astro Boy” Trailer

Starring the voice talents of Freddie Highmore, Kristen Bell, Donald Sutherland, Nicolas Cage and many others, “AStro Boy” will blast into theaters on October 23rd.

The first image is a scene with Astro Boy versus Battlebot Samaurai. The second is known as the Gladiator sequence. The third image is of Cora, voiced by Kristen Bell, a smart resourceful 17-year-old girl who is a tough but caring den mother to the gang of children on the surface. The fourth image is of Astro Boy lifting up the city. The fifth image is of Zog, voiced by Samuel L. Jackson, who Astro Boy resurrects and gains a powerful ally who is bigger and stronger than any other robot on the surface. And the last image is of Astro Boy firing his arm cannons.

The film is an adaptation of Osamu Tezuka’s classic manga. It comes from David Bowers. Penned by Timothy Harris, it features the voice of Freddie Highmore as the titular character Astro Boy, Nicolas Cage as Dr. Tenma, Donald Sutherland as President Stone and Kristen Bell as Cora among many others.

We’ve already seen two teaser trailers previously, so you should already know what to expect. However, this time they’ve included more of the comedy (to help bringing in younger audiences) and more of the finished voices.

Summit Entertainment has released six new stills from “Astro Boy”, animated sci-fi movie, including reveals of three characters– Dr. Tenma (Nicolas Cage), resident Stone (Donald Sutherland) and Dr. Elefun (Bill Nighy).

When a scientist’s young son dies, he secretly creates a powerful robot child to replace him, however the robot uses it’s incredible powers to become a world famous super-hero, and faces his biggest challenge when an alien race threatens Earth.

The movie will feature two cameo voices by Samuel L. Jackson and Charlize Theron, according to director David Bowers during the “Astro Boy” Comic-Con ‘09 panel over the weekend.
