Lionsgate Films provide us with another  sneak peek to Kick-Ass. The fresh red band clip sees Mark Strong’s Frank D’Amico and other two guys who watch Nicolas Cage’s Big Daddy embarking on a solo action to fight a number of badass.

Adapted from a comic book series by Mark Millar and John Romita Jr., Kick-Ass follows the story of average teenager Dave Lizewski who decides to take his comic-book obsession as inspiration to become a real-life superhero.

The titular character is played by Aaron Johnson, while 11-year-old sword-wielding dynamo Hit Girl is portrayed by Chloe Moretz. Christopher Mintz-Plasse is additionally cast as Red Mist. Produced by Matthew Vaughn and Brad Pitt, Kic-Ass has been premiered in London, U.K. on March 22. and come in U.S. theaters on April, 16.

This is a movie adaptation Jeff Kinney’s best selling forst book in the illusrated novel series of the same title. The family movie follows the adventures of middle school students Greg Heffley and Rowley Jefferson over the course of academic year, as told through Greg’s diary and hand drawn cartoons.

Greg is played by Jachary Gordon (Ethan in  ”Georgia Rule”,2007) and Robert Capron respectatively.

Supporting roles are: Steve Zahan ( A Perfect Getaway), Rachel Harris and Chloe Moretz ( Chelsea Lutz in “The Amityville Horror”, 2005 and “500 Days of Summer” )

“Diary of a Wimpy Kid” Trailer

Dave Lizewski is a nerdy high-schooler and an avid comic book reader that decides one day that all he needs is a costume and a name, and he can take to the streets as a baton-wielding enforcer of justice. He’s joined by a few others with the same idea (namely Big Daddy, Hit Girl, and Red Mist) before running afoul of mobster Frank D’amico.

Starring Nicolas Cage, Aaron Johnson, Chloe Moretz, Christopher Mintz-Plasse and Mark Strong, Kick-Ass movie will be released on April 16.

Here’s an awesome new movie poster for the upcoming movie “Kick-Ass” by director Matthew Vaughn and starring Nicolas Cage, Aaron Johnson, Christopher Mintx-Plasse, Frank Strong and Chloe Moretz.

The film, who is based on Mark Millar and John Romita Jr. mini series, follows a high school dweeb who attempts to reinvent himself as a real-world costumed superhero named Kick-Ass who seems doomed to failure because he’s not athletic or coordinated until he runs into real bad guys with real weapons.

Kick-Ass is scheduled to open April 16, 2010.

The first teaser trailer for Matthew Vaughn’s upcoming superhero action comedy “Kick-Ass” has hit the Web. The more than one minute clip is opened with a narration by the major character, Dave Lizewski, who explains his desire to be a superhero. The snippet also introduces some characters, such as Hit Girl, Big Daddy, and Red Mist.

Kick-Ass set for U.S. release on April 16, 2010.

After the film’s, well, kick ass debut at Comic Con, studios Lionsgate, Paramount and Universal are now itching to get their hands on the movie.

The film was independently funded because none of the studios wanted to tackle the story which fused ultra-violence with children. But now that the film is completed, and the buzz is high, the studios are fighting to win the comic book property.

In case you’re not familiar with the comic or the movie, it follows the adventures of young Dave Lizewski, a regular New York City high school student, who takes his interest in comic books as inspiration to become a real-life superhero. When his exploits are recorded by an onlooker with a cell phone and posted to the Internets, he becomes a sensation and is given the moniker Kick-Ass.

Along the way, he fights injustices found through his MySpace page and eventually team up with other like-minded wanna-be heroes including Hit Girl, Big Daddy and The Red Mist, to take down a local drug kingpin. The film, which is currently seeking distribution, stars Nicholas Cage, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Chloe Moretz and Aaron Johnson.

We hope that “Kick-Ass”  appear in theaters this year!

If you haven’t heard of Kick-Ass, it is based on a comic book where a group of teens without super powers take it upon themselves to become superheros.  And unlike most superhero films, it is laced with over-the-top violence. Kick-Ass is directed by Matthew Vaughn and stars Nicolas Cage, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Mark Strong, Aaron Johnson and Chloe Moretz.

The story centers on a high school dweeb named Dave Lizewski who decides to become a superhero even though he has no athletic ability or coordination. Things change when he eventually runs into real bad guys with real weapons. Nicolas Cage will play a former cop who wants to bring down a druglord and has trained his daughter to be a lethal weapon.

Release date for the movie is yet to be set.

Director Matthew Vaughn presented clips from his upcoming action comedy “Kick-Ass” , and all of those snippets have appeared online in bootleg format. Varied in length, the footage serve as an introduction to Aaron Johnson’s Dave Lizewski aka Kick-Ass, Chloe Moretz’s Mindy Macready aka Hit Girl and Nicolas Cage’s Damon Macready aka Big Daddy.

The film deals with a boy of 16 years who is so involved in the comics that is a costume, paint a baseball bat and goes to look for problems. Decides to become the world’s first superhero. This guy does not have injected the super soldier serum, or has been launched into space from a dying world.  Only lift weights every night and may go to karate lessons and tries to eat healthy but it is extremely vulnerable.

The first one highlights on Dave’s attempt to be a hero which turns into disaster. Coming across two thugs who try to force open a car door, Dave sees it to be a chance to shine, instead he gets stabbed before being hit by an oncoming car.

Another one takes a look at the time Damon trains Mindy to be prepared with the impact of a gunshot by firing at her while she’s wearing a bullet-proof vest.

The third one is the opening clip shown at the convention. Showing a falcon-themed superhero standing on the edge of Empire State Building’s roof, the clip contains Dave’s opening monologue, saying “I always wondered why nobody did it before me…We all planned to be a superhero…”

The last snippet sees Kick-Ass being saved by Hit Girl during one of his actions.
