Avatar won the Golden Globe last Sunday for best dramatic film of the year. That boost has helped push its earnings to more than $9.1 million at the domestic box office this past Friday.

This puts Avatar on track to topple The Dark Knight as the second highest grossing film of all time. The numbers aren’t in yet, but according to Variety, Avatar is estimated to earn well over The Dark Knights haul of $533.3 million by Monday morning.
