Today we have the first look at the dwarf Thorin Oakenshield, as portrayed by Richard Armitage.

Thorin is the leader of the company of Dwarves who go to the Lonely Mountain to do battle with the dragon Smaug. The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey is directed by Peter Jackson and comes to theaters December 14th, 2012 . The film also stars Cate Blanchett, Saoirse Ronan, Orlando Bloom, Elijah Wood, Martin Freeman, David Tennant, Ian McKellen, Christopher Lee.

As a young Dwarf prince, Thorin witnessed the destruction and terror wrought when a great fire-breathing Dragon attacked the Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor. After slaughtering many of Thorin’s kin, the great serpent, Smaug, entered The Lonely Mountain and took possession of its vast store of gold and jewels. No-one came to the aid of the surviving Dwarves, and thus, a once proud and noble race was forced into exile. Through long years of hardship, Thorin grew to be a strong and fearless fighter and revered leader. Paramount Pictures has released two new clips from Captain America: The First Avenger. The film is directed by Joe Johnston and stars Chris Evans, Hugo Weaving, Tommy Lee Jones, Neal McDonough, Sebastian Stan, Dominic Cooper, Hayley Atwell, Toby Jones.

First trailer for upcoming Jason Statham‘s action movie Blitz has been released, the film is directed by Elliott Lester and comes to theaters August 23rd, 2011. The film also stars David Morrissey, Luke Evans, Paddy Considine, Aidan Gillen, Chris Wilson and Nicky Henson.

Blitz is based on the hard-boiled novel by Ken Bruen, the script is by Moon’s Nathan Parker and the film, which is the first to be produced (rather than just distributed) by Lionsgate UK, is directed by Elliott Lester (Love is the Drug). In book-form, it’s actually the third in a series.

A first photo from upcoming Sacha Baron Cohen‘s comedy The Dictator has been releaserd.

The Dictator comes to theaters May 11th, 2012 and also stars Ben Kingsley, Jason Mantzoukas, and Anna Faris. The film is directed by Larry Charles.

Summit Entertainment has released a new poster for the upcoming action adventure The Three Musketeers.

The film is directed by Paul W.S. Anderson, and stars Logan Lerman, Milla Jovovich, Matthew Macfadyen, Ray Stevenson, Luke Evans, Mads Mikkelson, Gabriella Wilde, Juno Temple, Orlando Bloom and Christoph Waltz.

The hot-headed young D’Artagnan along with three former legendary but now down on their luck Musketeers must unite and defeat a beautiful double agent and her villainous employer from seizing the French throne and engulfing Europe in war.

The Perks of Being a Wallflower

Columbia Pictures has released three new clips from the outrageous summer comedy Bad Teacher. The film is directed by Jake Kasdan, comes to theaters June 24th, 2011 and  stars Cameron Diaz, Justin Timberlake, Jason Segel, Eric Stonestreet, John Michael Higgins, Molly Shannon, Lucy Punch and Noah Munck.

Here’s the synopsis:

Some teachers just don’t give an F. For example, there’s Elizabeth (Cameron Diaz). She’s foul-mouthed, ruthless, and inappropriate. She drinks, she gets high, and she can’t wait to marry her meal ticket and get out of her bogus day job.
