Will ther be “Sherlock Holmes 2″ ?
Guy Ritchie will put away his DC Comics adaptation “Lobo” to direct “Sherlock Holms 2″. Joel Silver who is also the producer on “Lobo” told The La Times:
“I don’t think he’s going to do it now,” when asked about the prospect of Ritchie directing “Lobo.” “The studio wants us and Guy to focus on making another Sherlock Holmes. So I think we’re going to be doing that.”
When he was asked about the “Lobo” he said that it still remains a viable project and said that he and producers Goldsman and Rona will probably have to find another director.
In the 1980s the character was a funny parody of the antiheros Wolverine and Punisher, characters have combined seven film appearances to their credit.
About possible Bred Pitt’s participation in the project, he said:”We talked about that at one point, but you know as of right now we’re not sure what we’re going to do. We’ll see what happens.”
“Sherlock Holmes” has earned $389 million in worldwide box office since its Christmas Day opening. Robert Downey Jr. won a surprise Golden Globe, and he might be in play for an Oscar nomination next week.
