Orlando Bloom won’t be back as Will Turner in “Pirates of the Caribbian 4″
“Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides” will by directed by Rob Marshall, as we already said before and Johnny Depp will once again play Captain Jack Sparrow.
During the Sundance Film Festival, MTV News caught actor Orlando Bloom and put that very question to him — but according to the actor, his days as Will Turner are over.
“No, definitely not,” he said when asked if he’d return for the fourth “Pirates” movie. “I think Will is sort of swimming around with the fish at the bottom of the ocean.” His decision to leave the “Pirates” films was purely a matter of wanting to try new roles.
“I had a great time making those movies,” he said. “I just really wanted to do different things, but I think it’s going to be great. Whatever Johnny does, I think it’s fantastic.”
When he was asked about director Rob Marsall, he said:”I think he’s an amazing director, I think it will be a very interesting fit, because Johnny is musical anyway and I’m sure that something really beautiful will come out of it.”
