Orlando Bloom wants to be in “The Hobbit”
Orlando Bloom who has played the character in “The Lord of the Rings” triology has said that he would like to be again the Elf archer if Peter Jackson wants him to be in the movie.
When he was interviewed at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival by MTV he said that he has approached producer Peter Jackson about possibility to return to “The Hobbit”. He told that he has shot an e mail to Pete and said:”You know, if you want me to wear the blonde wig and to have pointly ears again, I would be honoured to do it.” Pete said:”Well, we will see. They are very, very hush – hush.”
Orlando has a small chance to repeat Legolas in “The Hobbit” because this character has no role part in the original story.
Nevertheless he has shown a great support for Pete and Guillermo del Toro’s project. “It’s Guillermo’s movie and I’m a huge fan of that man. He’s obviously going to take his own idea of it, but I’m excited for that movie. I think it’s going to be great,” he gushed.
Ian McKellan, Hugo Weaving, Cate Blanchett are back as Gandalf, Elrond and Galadriel, however we still don’t know who will play Bilbo Baggins.
The scenes from the novel will be re created in “The Hobbit”, with some additional events that make an impact to “The Lord of the Rings“, such as the expulsion of Sauron from Mirkwood by the White Council. It will be made into two films with “The Hobbit 2″. It will be released a year after the first one.
Coming up in 2012.
