Jason Momoa is next Conan the Barberian – confirmed

Deadline Hollywood has reported that Liousgate Films has found “Conan”. The Baywatch actor has beaten competition Kellan Lutz (Twilight).

Among Momoa and Lutz, there was in a game third establish actor, apperently the “unnamed establish actor” was Jared Padalecki from TV series “Supernatural“, Latino Review has just claimed. Latino has announced that Mickey Rourke has been offered to play Conan’s father, Corin, but he hasn’t signed yet for the movie.

Jason Momoa was Jason Loane in “Baywatch”, he also appeared in sci – fi series “Stargate: Atlantis”, playing Ronan Dex since 2004 until show ended in January 2009.

“Conan” will center its story on iconic figure Conan the Cimmerian and his adventures across the continent of Hyboria. The film is scheduled to kick off production on March 15 in Bulgaria with Marcus Nispel set to direct.
