The Book of Eli is a very serious film. The latest movie from Albert and Allen Huges is about a lone warrior named Eli (Denzel Washington), who fights his way across the desolate wasteland of near future America to realize his desteny and deliver the knowledge that can bring civilization back from the desruction and save the future of humanity.

Denzel Washington performed all his own stunts for the hand to hand fight scenes sequences. For the movie he was trained in martial arts by protege of Bruce Lee, Dan Inosanto.
The Book of Eli has become only the 2nd movie to be #1 during the 28-day reign of Avatar – even if it’s only Queen For A Day while the current King Of The World takes the Mlk long weekend. Sources tell me the Denzel Washington starrer distributed by Warner Bros with a we-be-cool marketing campaign made $11.7 million Friday from 3,111 theaters.
