First “Kick-Ass” Trailer Arrives Online

The first teaser trailer for Matthew Vaughn’s upcoming superhero action comedy “Kick-Ass” has hit the Web. The more than one minute clip is opened with a narration by the major character, Dave Lizewski, who explains his desire to be a superhero. The snippet also introduces some characters, such as Hit Girl, Big Daddy, and Red Mist.

Based on Mark Millar’s comic of the same title, the film centers on Lizewski, an average teenager whose hobby of reading comic books inspires him to become a real-life superhero. As a superhero wannabe, Kick-Ass actually has no superpower. However, his life is forever changed as he inspires a subculture of copy cats, is hunted by assorted violent and unpleasant characters, and meets up with a pair of crazed vigilantes.

The film is released on April 16, 2010 and also stars Nicolas Cage, Chloe Moretz, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Mark Strong and Xander Berkeley.
