The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences will have more than one host for the 82nd Annual Academy Awards. The show’s telecast producers Bill Mechanic and Adam Shankman announced the designation of Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin as the co-hosts of the 2010 Oscars.

The hosting job will be Baldwin’s first, but Martin’s third. The latter has had the privileged of being the master of ceremony for the 73rd and 75th Academy Awards shows.

In the press release, Martin who will play Baldwin’s rival for love in the forthcoming comedy “It’s Complicated” said, “I am happy to co-host the Oscars with my enemy Alec Baldwin”. Baldwin chimed in, “I don’t play the banjo but I’m thrilled to be hosting the Oscars – it’s the opportunity of a lifetime”.

The 82nd Academy Awards will be held on Sunday, March 7, 2010. Its gala ceremony is set to be aired live by ABC Television Network with Bill Mechanic and Adam Shankman serving as producers.
