First “Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time” Trailer Arrives

Walt Disney Pictures has unraveled the first official trailer for Jake Gyllenhaal’s upcoming flick “Prince of Persia: Sands of Time”.

Adapted from a video game, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time tells of a brave street urchin called Dastan (Gyllenhaal) who is adopted by the king to be his heir so his own two sons won’t fight over the throne.  Dastan is mentored by Sheik Amar (Alfred Molina) and teams up with Princess Tamina (Gemma Arterton) on a quest to retrieve the Sands of Time – a gift from the gods that can control time – from villainous nobleman Nizam (Ben Kingsley).

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, directed by Mike Newell (Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire) and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer (G-Force, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End, Bad Boys II…), is scheduled to hit theatres on May 28th, 2010.
