Iron Man 2 – Could be Converted to 3-D?
While “Iron Man 2″ has been in its post-production phase for quite some time, it has been hit with another rumor, speculating that Marvel Studios is tinkering with the conversion of the action movie to Digital 3-D.
Coming up with the story was Ain’t It Cool News (AICN) which reported that a minute of the “Iron Man” sequel is being converted to 3-D as a demo. The main problem right now is the cost involved – it’s extremely expensive to convert a film that has been shot on film and without thought of 3D to the required format.
This action movie will see Robert Downey Jr reprising his role as the eponymous Marvel superhero. Gwyneth Paltrow and Samuel L. Jackson also return to the cast, joined by newcomers Scarlett Johansson, Mickey Rourke and Sam Rockwell.
Iron Man 2, in 3 dimension or not, will open wide in theaters across the U.S. on May 7, 2010.
