Full-Length Agora Trailer and Beautiful Character Posters
With the launching of “Agora” official site, a new full-length trailer and four beautifully conceived character posters, for the historical drama comes out for viewing pleasure.
Set in fourth century Alexandria, this ancient Egyptian epic centers its story on the love of a slave named Davus for his master who is astrologer-philosopher known as Hypatia of Alexandria. While Davus is torn between his love for his mistress and the possibility of gaining his freedom by joining the rising tide of Christianity, Hypatia fights to save the old world’s wisdom from the religious riots sweeping the streets of Alexandria.
Around two minutes long, this sneak peek highlights on the violent religious upheaval in the streets of Alexandria, and Hypatia’s effort to save the collected wisdom of the ancient world.
Rachel Weisz stars as Hypatia and Max Minghella takes the role of Davus.
This historical drama comes from the director of “The Others”, Alejandro Amenabar, who has been set as its director and co-writer.
Premiered at the 2009 Cannes Film Festival, it is set to appear at the Toronto Film Festival which runs from September 10 to 12. It is expected to hit U.S. theaters on December 18.
