Shutter Island moved to February 19, 2010

“Shutter Island”, the thriller mystery from Academy Award-winning director Martin Scorsese and starring Leonardo DiCaprio, is no longer among the Paramount Pictures’ 2009 line-up. In a surprising move, the studio announced on Friday, August 21, that the theatrical release date of the movie has been pushed back from October 2, 2009 to February 19, 2010.
Based on Dennis Lehane’s 2003 novel, “Shutter Island” tells the story of two U.S. marshals, Teddy Daniels and Chuck Aule. The two are summoned to a remote and barren island off the cost of Massachusetts to investigate the mysterious disappearance of a murderess from the island’s fortress-like hospital for the criminally insane.
